[PROSECUTOR]: And can you tell us what [defendant] said?
[POLICE OFFICER]: He just stated to me that … he passed the intersection and then attempted to make a right-hand turn. [DEFENDANT]: [T]he officer testified that I told him that I passed the turn and then attempted to make a right turn. I deny making that statement. [POLICE OFFICER]: Actually, he told me he paused in the intersection …. [POLICE OFFICER]: He stated to me that … he was attempting to make a left turn from Watchung Avenue onto River Road. [PROSECUTOR]: And you told [the officer] also that you missed your turn, correct? [DEFENDANT]: No, I didn't. [PROSECUTOR]: And you are certain of that. [DEFENDANT]: Yes, I am certain about that. [PROSECUTOR]: And you didn't say that you missed your turn …? [DEFENDANT]: No. [PROSECUTOR]: You're absolutely certain you didn't do that. [DEFENDANT]: Absolutely certain.
