Borough of Chatham Municipal Court, State v. Boguslavsky,

March 20, 2007.

[PROSECUTOR]: Did [defendant] tell you in what lane of travel he was operating before the contact occurred?

[POLICE OFFICER]: Yes, he did. He stated to me that he was traveling in the left-turn lane ….

...

[COURT]: You were going to make a left turn onto River Road?

[DEFENDANT]: Yes.

[COURT]: And which -- which lane were you in when you were going to do that?

[DEFENDANT]: In the left lane.

[PROSECUTOR]: And when you approached the intersection, it's your testimony that your vehicle was wholly in the left-turn lane, correct?

[DEFENDANT]: Yes.

[PROSECUTOR]: And you told [the officer] that you were in the right lane approaching River Road?

[DEFENDANT]: No. That's not correct.

...

THE COURT: [Defendant] told you he was in the right lane going straight ahead. Is that what he told you?

[POLICE OFFICER]: He originally told me that he was in the left lane.
