[PROSECUTOR]: Did [defendant] tell you in what lane of travel he was operating before the contact occurred?
[POLICE OFFICER]: Yes, he did. He stated to me that he was traveling in the left-turn lane …. ... [COURT]: You were going to make a left turn onto River Road? [DEFENDANT]: Yes. [COURT]: And which -- which lane were you in when you were going to do that? [DEFENDANT]: In the left lane. [PROSECUTOR]: And when you approached the intersection, it's your testimony that your vehicle was wholly in the left-turn lane, correct? [DEFENDANT]: Yes. [PROSECUTOR]: And you told [the officer] that you were in the right lane approaching River Road? [DEFENDANT]: No. That's not correct. ... THE COURT: [Defendant] told you he was in the right lane going straight ahead. Is that what he told you?
